Donate Your Used Running Shoes

If you're expecting some new running shoes under the Christmas tree this year, why not donate your old kicks to a good cause? I know I have at least two or three worn-out pairs sitting in the back of my closet. Through its Reuse-a-Shoe program, Nike collects worn-out athletic shoes (any brand, not just Nike) and recycles them (rather than going into landfills) into material used in sports surfaces like basketball courts, tennis courts, athletic fields, running tracks and playgrounds for kids around the world.

So you can protect the environment, help create new play surfaces, and clean out your closet at the same time. It’s a no-brainer! Nike has collection locations at some Nike Stores, other retail stores, athletic clubs, and schools. Or, you can send your shoes via mail.

Find out how the Nike Reuse-a-Shoe program works and how to donate.
