Lose Yourself by Eminem (Great song to pump yourself up with before or at the beginning of a run)
Superman Movie Theme by John Willaims (This is a great orchestral song that also can pump you up. You feel like flying)
The William Tell Overture (Lone Ranger theme) It’s a given.

Personally my “Power Song” that I used with my Nike+ running system is:

Lose Yourself by Eminem.

Bodies by Drowning Pool is another great one that I use to push myself. On a side note: It is also the most popular song for soldiers to get pumped up before going out on patrols in Iraq.

Also great songs are most fast paced songs by:
Godsmack
Disturbed

Fort Minor
Linking Park
Seether

I don’t have just one favorit song, but there are certain CD’s that I have run to during particular times. For example when I wnet on a 3 week vacation with my Mom and Dad to Hawaii. I was listening to “”Shakira “Laurndry Service”
Now when I listen to that CD it bring back sweet, sweet memories of that last trip I took with my Dad, as he passed away later that same year.
But the music actually transports me back to the running path along the canal and all the smells and sights.

I actually said to a guy at the gym just last week (through my heavy breathing due to the fast past the song wants me to move to when finishing a long run) that the BEST song to run to is Poison’s “Talk Dirty to Me”.

I can be having the worst run of my life and not want to go another 3 feet, but if my ipod shuffles to that song I feel completely rejuved and ready to go at least another 3 minutes!

I’m a long-distance runner. I run about 6-8 miles a day on average. The pumped up songs are great initially, but have the opposite effect on me 3 miles into my run. Some great zone out music…
