Most people know to be prepared to fight weight gain in the winter, when the holidays and decreased activity can lead to a few extra pounds. But summer -- with its backyard barbecues, s'mores around the campfire, and delicious frozen treats -- can also be a diet-sabotaging season if you're not careful. Here are some nutrition and fitness tips to help avoid weight gain this summer.

I agree with all of your tips except for the “eat fruit after your meals” bit.
Eating fruit right after a bigger meal is a great way to suck the energy right out of your body. The problem is that fruit digests itself very quickly which can be a problem if it sitting on top of previously eaten foods which are still digesting in the stomach.
As a result, we get gassy and bloaty. Eat fruit on an empty stomach and preferably alone for optimal digestion.
