Common Racing Mistakes to Avoid

Sunday August 10, 2008
When I run a race and have a disappointing result, I always try to still take something away from it. Did I start out too fast? Did I eat and drink enough? What could I have done better? Usually I can find a lesson to learn from my experience, which makes me feel better about my performance and can help me in my next race.

Making mistakes during road races is very common, especially if you're a beginner runner. Here are some of the most common racing mistakes and how you can avoid them.

Dear Christine,

This is very helpful advise!

I always used to feel depressed when I did not do well. Now I try to learn from every competition and like you say I find the things I can do better next time and learn from my mistakes.

Every time I try do do a little better then the last one.

Thanks,

Ana
