Do the Olympics inspire you to run?

Friday August 22, 2008
The U.S. Olympic Track and Field team has had its share of unlucky events this week -- injuries, dropped batons during relays, disqualifications, and clipped hurdles -- but I've been impressed with how the athletes have handled themselves in the face of disappointment. As I've been watching the coverage, I can't help but be inspired to run.

What do you think about the U.S. Track and Field athletes? Have you been disappointed with their performances? Do you think the pressure of high expectations is part of the reason why they've underperformed in the Beijing Olympics? Share your thoughts in the comments sections.

I was particularly inspired by the fine form all the runners had, but particularly by the Jamaican women. I also followed the competition of Hem Bunting, from Cambodia, and even though he was never considered a contender, I was proud of his performance in the marathon.
