What's Your Biggest Running Mistake?

Tuesday September 16, 2008
Over the years, I've made every running mistake in the book. Probably the worst one was nutrition-related. I was part of a 12-person team for a 200-mile relay race, and we had stocked our van with all kinds of food for the 24-hour race. For some crazy reason, I was snacking on Fig Newtons before the race started -- big mistake! I had to make numerous pit stops during my three legs of the race. I haven't been able to eat too many Fig Newtons since then, and I definitely avoid them before running.
