So today is the first full day of fall, which also marks the beginning of my favorite running season. Why do I love running in the autumn? Here in the northeast U.S., like most of the country, the weather is usually not too hot and not too cold -- making it perfect for outdoor running. The ideal running weather gets lots of runners outside and off the treadmills, and I love feeding off the energy of other runners on the roads and trails.
In addition, checking out the leaves changing colors is always a nice distraction during my fall runs. And there's always a lot of excitement surrounding some big fall U.S. marathons, such as the Chicago marathon, Marine Corps marathon, and New York City marathon. All the buzz definitely gets me more motivated to run.

I completely agree that autumn is a great season to run (i’m just coming in from 6km run). The only slight problem I see is the time taken to adjust clothing. You want to have not too hot and not too cold clothing and it is defintely more complex than in summer time (and even during winter cold nights).
By the way, thanks for the advices for running at night. Very appropriate.
