If you've ever had the desire to run a race dressed as a superhero, but didn't want to stand out because you were the only one in costume, have I got a race for you.
Although the SuperHero Half Marathon and Relay in Morristown, N.J. doesn't require participants to wear superhero costumes, they encourage runners to dress up as Superman, Wonder Woman, and other favorite heroes while running the 13.1 miles. If you prefer to do the race "Batman and Robin-style," you can split the distance with a buddy and run the relay race.
Last year's inaugural race drew 1,300 runners and race organizers are expecting even more heroes this year. Prizes will be awarded to top finishers and the best costumes.
And, don't worry, even if you prefer to run sans cape and tights, you'll still be a hero. The race benefits, fittingly, the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation for spinal cord injury research.

This is the one I’ve been training for! Cool to see it written up here. Looks like a lot of fun – but I won’t be in a costume.
That’s fantastic! Good luck with the race — it sounds like it will be a blast!
