Money Saving Tips for Runners

By January 2, 2014

Follow me on:

Have you resolved to save money this year?  Running is certainly cheaper than other sports, such as golf or skiing, since it doesn't require expensive equipment and you don't have to spend money every time you want to do it.  Still, once you've been running for a while, you start to realize that your habit can hurt your wallet if you're not careful. The cost of race entries, travel to runs and races, running shoes and apparel, fun gadgets, and sports nutrition can definitely start to add up.

So how do you try to save money on your running habit? Run only local races? Buy last year's model of your favorite running shoes? Skip the fancy energy bars? Check out my money saving tips for runners and share your own suggestions.
