Many runners like to see how their marathon times compare to how celebrities did in their races, and reading about celebrities' half marathon times can be just as fun. Here are some famous people, from actors to politicians, who ran half marathons, in order from best to worst times:
Apolo Ohno, 2011 Chicago Half Marathon (1:40:59)
World champion short-track speedskater and Olympic gold medalist Apolo Ohno proved that he can move fast even without the skates, and for a much longer distance. He ran his first half marathon in Chicago as part of his training for the 2011 New York City Marathon.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck, 2011 More and Fitness Magazine Half Marathon (1:44:32)
The View co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck proved that her husband, former NFL quarterback Tim Hasselbeck, isn't the only athlete in the family, as the mom of three cruised to a 1:44 finish on a tough course in New York City’s Central Park.
Sarah Palin, 2011 Storm Lake Half Marathon (1:46:10)
James Marsden, 2010 Rock 'n' Roll Los Angeles Half Marathon (1:50:44)
He may not have super powers on the race course, but the X-Men and Superman Returns star can definitely run. Marsden, who also enjoys participating in triathlons, clocked a 1:50 in Los Angeles.
Jerry O'Connell, 2010 Rock 'n' Roll Los Angeles Half Marathon (1:50:45)
Actor Jerry O'Connell and buddy James Marsden paced each other for the entire race, but O'Connell must have let his friend get a step ahead of him at the end, as the dad of two crossed the finish line just one second behind him.
Drew Carey, 2011 Disneyland Half Marathon (1:50:46)
After losing 92 pounds in a year, comedian Drew Carey decided to run his first half marathon, the Marine Corps Half Marathon. Carey, a former Marine, completed the race in 1:58:20, but ran another one a few months to try to improve his time. The Price is Right host did just that, setting a new PR of 1:50:46.
Valerie Bertinelli, 2011 Napa-to-Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon (2:12:19)
Actress Valerie Bertinelli, who famously lost more than 50 pounds on the Jenny Craig diet, showed off her slim, toned body at the Napa-to-Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon as she cruised to a 2:12:19 finish.
Hugh Jackman, 2011 New York City Half Marathon (2:05:52)
I was at the 2011 NYC half marathon and didn’t know that actor Hugh Jackman was running in it. So when he passed where I was cheering at mile 11, I said to the person next to me, "Did you see that Hugh Jackman look-a-like?" I found out later that was Hugh Jackman. I had a celebrity spotting and I didn't even know it! Wolverine had a great race with a 2:05 finishing time, and also raised money and awareness for the charity Shoe 4Africa, an organization that helps distribute shoes to needy people in Africa.
Jennifer Love Hewitt, 2010 Rock 'n' Roll Los Angeles Half Marathon (3:09:13)
Former "Ghost Whisperer" actress Jennifer Love Hewitt was all smiles as she ran (with some walking breaks) side-by-side with her new boyfriend Alex Beh in her first half marathon.
Al Roker, 2010 Rock 'n' Roll Chicago Half Marathon (3:20:58)
