Walkmans, Discmans, and Runners

Just like the decision to listen (or not to listen) to music on your runs, the decision of which type of player to use comes down to personal preference. Depending on your situation, one of these modes of musical transportation may fit your lifestyle better than the others.

Music or no music, MP3s, CDs, tapes, or minidiscs, none of that is what running is about. Running is about enjoyment. It is about health and happiness and being yourself. Running is using your body and making the most out of it. It is seeing the perfection in yourself even when you are struggling. So whether you decide to listen to music or listen to nature, please remember that the important thing is to do what you need to do to get your runs in healthily and happily without keeping other runners from doing the same.
