Gather Supplies.

If you are not serious enough about making a resolution to spend some time thinking about them, then you are unlikely to be serious enough about them to keep them. So, take the time to find some quiet space, bring a pencil/pen and paper, and prepare to think about your life and what you would resolve to change over the next year. That is what New Year's Resolutions are about, isn't it?
