"I want to start running, but I'm not sure where to begin. What's the best way to get started with running?"
Answer: Most people get started with running by using a run/walk approach, which involves intervals of walking alternated with intervals of running.

Here are several easy run/walk start-up plans to get you moving and jumpstart your running routine. If you have been sedentary for a long period of time, you may want to start with one of the "Learn to Run" programs. Those who have a little bit of a fitness base may want to start with one of the Beginner 5K programs. Following a training schedule is a great way to safely increase your running time and distance (to avoid injury) and to stay motivated to stick with your running habit.
