Question: Should I Drink Coconut Water During or After Running?
A friend of mine drinks coconut water after her runs. Is coconut water a better option than plain water or sports drinks?
Answer: Coconut water does contain some carbs and electrolytes, but sports drinks supply more. So stick with sports drinks to fuel and hydrate during longer runs. If you're running less than an hour, plain water should suffice. However, if you like the taste of coconut water, it's certainly a good option for those shorter runs.
