The hip-hop/rap genre is one of the most popular categories of music among runners. The songs usually have a great beat and are very versatile, so they can be used for hard workouts and slow, easy runs.

1. Let's Get It Started - Black Eyed Peas

With the words "runnin', runnin', runnin'" repeated numerous times within the first 30 seconds, this song is so perfect for running that I also included it in the Power Running Songs list. It's guaranteed to get you pumped up for a run.

2. Outkast - The Way You Move

This song is a fun one to run to. It's nice hearing someone singing, "I love the way you move" to you as you're running.

3. Crank Dat - Soulja Boy

Everyone's dancing to this song these days, but it's also got a great beat for running. And it never hurts to hear the word "Superman" when you're in the middle of a run.

This song can be used for running fast or taking it easy, depending on what kind of mood you're in.

5. 'Till I Collapse - Eminem

Right from the first verse, the lyrics of this song can totally be related to running: "'Cause sometimes you feel tired, feel weak, and when you feel weak, you feel like you wanna just give up. But you gotta search within you, you gotta find that inner strength..." OK, so you may not want to run "'till you collapse," but this song will definitely get you moving.

6. Remember the Name - Fort Minor

This song has a nice slow and steady beat, so it's good for easy runs. Parts of the chorus can definitely be related to running (depending on how you're feeling!): "This is ten percent luck, twenty percent skill, fifteen percent concentrated power of will, five percent pleasure, fifty percent pain..."

7. Rollin' - Limp Bizkit

This song, which came out several years ago, alternates between fast and slow-paced, so it's a good one for an interval workout.
