"The Athlete's Palate Cookbook" Features Delicious Recipes for Runners

I'm a big fan of Runner's World magazine and I love reading their monthly "The Athlete's Palate" column, which features delicious dishes from renowned chefs, who also happen to be runners. The Athlete's Palate Cookbook is a collection of these healthy and tasty recipes, along with 60 new recipes for breakfasts, entrees, soups, salads, sides, desserts, and beverages.

The 100+ recipes include Cora Cat's Walnut and Banana Bran Pancakes, Gordon Ramsey's Pancetta Spaghetti, and Bobby Flay's Beef and Sun-Dried Tomato Flatbread Pizza. One of my personal favorites is Joan Chang's Flour's Famous Banana Bread – it's very moist and tasty. As you're preparing a dish, you can also read short profiles of the chefs/runners who created the recipes.

In addition to many color, mouth-watering photos, a great feature of the book is that each recipe includes labels indicating quick-and-easy, training, and recovery meals, so you can plan your meals and time them properly. Each recipe also includes nutritional information, including calories, protein, carbohydrates, and fat amounts.

I'm definitely not a chef, but I found these recipes easy-to-follow. And just flipping through the cookbook inspires me to run, and then make a delicious, healthy, post-run meal.
