About the Olympic Triathlon: The Olympic triathlon is a competition consisting of three events: swimming, biking, and running. All three events are done one right after another, with no breaks in between. Learn more about the Olympic triathlon and what it takes to be an Olympic-caliber triathlete.

Olympic Triathlon History: The Olympic triathlon is still a relatively new Olympic sport. In 1994, at the International Olympic Committee's Congress in Paris, France, triathlon was awarded full medal status in the Olympic games and triathlon made its debut at the 2000 Olympic Summer Games in Sydney, Australia.
