What Motivated Me to Lose Weight

I am not a picture taking person. I saw a picture of me with my relatives and I was shocked to see how big I had become. So, since I didn't like the way I looked, I decided to get in better shape. Besides, obesity is not good for your arteries, joints and your self-esteem

How I Lost Weight

I started walking 30-40 minutes for three days in a row. Then I jogged for intervals of 3-4 minutes and walked 10 minutes for about two weeks. Then I increased the jogging interval time with less walking time. Since I have had knee surgery, I didn't want to risk to get injured by pushing my body too much. I have to change my jogging routine with only walking. I do suffer from an allergic cough and eventually jogging too much irritate my chest and start coughing. Since I didn't want to stop the physical activity, I started walking. But right now I am doing fine, so I will start jogging again. I get so many compliments from co-workers and friends. It feels good to get people feedback.

Tips and Tricks

  • I stopped eating high carbohydrates, foods, sweets, and sodas.
  • I believe losing weight is not easy, but with determination and commitment you can do it.
  • Just take one step at a time. One day at a time. You can do it.
