If you're a runner, you probably love getting running-related gifts, but some gifts are definitely better than others. What are the favorite running gifts? Share your gift ideas with other runners. Share your gift ideas
Love all these!
- Great ideas so far! I think some of the new items to hold your medals and bibs are great (like on goneforarun.com), and I wouldn't buy them for myself. Also shirts with fun slogans like the ones at onemoremile.com are great, especially if you know your runner. Giftcards always work too

Safety Gear
- A reflective vest, hat, belt, or a battery-powered light is a must have for any runner that has to get their miles in the early morning or late evening hours. If they're anything like me, it's not something they're liable to buy, but definitely willing to wear if you express concern about their safety.

Buff It
- Most likely, I'd get a runner a reflective/flourescent Buff (that one piece stretchy jobbie that can be fashioned into several styles). And yes, Udaybhanu...lashings of encouragement also(:

Running/Jogging Books
- I love getting a new book about running and/or jogging from my husband every year. I love reading the new info and about other runners/joggers too. I love the running/jogging literature.

running socks
- I hate spending a lot of money on running socks, so it's always nice to get some good quality ones as a gift!

Running Music
- I think gift certificates for music specifically made for running is a fantastic gift. They can pick the songs they want and the speed to match their stride rate/cadence themselves. Check out http://bit.ly/HS-Gift The right music can really make workouts better, and can take the dread out of winter treadmill running.

afrobeast
- In my experience, the best gift a runner can give or receive is an encouraging wave or a smiling nod while crossing another panting runner.

Third Wind
- I'd like to suggest my recently-released book, "Running on Third Wind."

gift certificates
- Gift certificates to my local running shop are always put to good use!

running shoes
- My husband gave me my first pair of "real" running shoes last year. Before that, I was running in a pair of very old tennis shoes that were not good for running. Wearing a good pair of running shoes made such a difference in my comfort and motivation levels!

massage!
- I love to get massages, especially after a really long run or race, but I hate to spend money on them. So it's great when someone gives me a gift certificate for a sports massage. I don't feel quite so guilty indulging myself.
